It all started in 2016 with Lindsey Byrd's dream to reach out to those less fortunate in the community by focusing on what she saw a growing concern in our community…hunger. After much prayer and discussion, the soup kitchen was formed to operate each Saturday, providing a hot breakfast. The Soup Kitchen is rotated currently with the blessing of local churches/organizations, every Saturday morning offering as many as 200 prepared meals for the community. It was determined that a permanent facility would better serve the community. That plan is currently in the making as remodeling is taking place in an acquired building for a Community Center.
